Pickleball is taking the United States by storm with an estimated 4.2 million players, with an approximate growth rate of 21.3% since 2019.

With its growing popularity, more pickleball manufacturers and brands are emerging. We’re here to show you what’s new!

What’s The Big Dill With Pickleball?

Combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, this easy-to-learn sport is gaining traction in the sports community.

The first step to mastery is ensuring you have the right equipment to do so. Players each need a paddle, and the group needs a handful of pickleballs.

While amateurs may choose to use whatever is available, more experienced players will consider factors like a good grip, a comfortable weight, and the paddle’s build and composition. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, though. Choosing pickleball paddles comes down to personal preference.

Relish In The New and Improved

Originally ping-pong paddles and whiffle balls, this sport’s equipment has drastically evolved. With new options coming to market constantly, it’s hard to keep up!

Pickleball Paddles

The latest editions of pickleball paddles contain innovative core materials such as polymer, aluminum, or Nomex and have paddle faces in graphite, carbon fiber, and fiberglass options.

With the sport’s growing popularity, several familiar names from the tennis industry, such as Wilson, HEAD, and Gamma, are making the leap to pickleball, using their experience and knowledge from a related sport.

Other names popping up on the market are ONIX, TMPR, Paddlehead, and Engage. Together, they provide paddle options suitable for any age, skill level, or price range.

Manufacturers are also focusing on being accredited by the United States Pickleball Association. This assures that they meet the competitive standards and regulations of the sport.

Take the time to determine which paddle gives you the most comfortable grip and best control of the ball. You can easily compare paddles to determine which manufacturer best fits your needs.

Pickleballs

With technology and competition improving, the need for the optimal pickleball has emerged. There are two main types of balls on the market: indoor and outdoor balls.

Often there is little variation in choosing the best pickleball to use; they are made of durable plastic in high visibility colors. Where the industry is beginning to see a difference, though, is durability.

Due to UV exposure and a rougher court surface, outdoor balls tend to wear out sooner than indoor balls and are more prone to cracking.

When it comes to manufacturers, you will see a lot of familiar names from before. Most companies have decided to produce both paddles and balls. Some of the most popular we’ve seen are ONIX and Dura Fast. In fact, Dura Fastballs appear to be the most popular pick for outdoor tournaments!

Don’t Get Yourself In A Pickle

Now that you know about all the latest and greatest pickleball manufacturers on the market, don’t just wait around. The next step is finding people to play and compete with!
